Policy Team
The NOAA ECS Policy Team was established by the NOAA ECS Committee to
review, revise and develop ECS policy guidance to direct the efforts
and activities of NOAA’s Line and Staff Offices. The main objectives
of the ECS Policy Team are to:
1. Ensure policies are compliant with existing federal, state, and local
laws and regulations, Executive Orders, and Department of Commerce (DOC)
and NOAA policies and strategic plans;
2. Establish and maintain an ECS Program which is consistent and supportive
across NOAA’s workforce and facilities;
3. Develop and implement a standardized procedure for the identification,
development, evaluation and cancellation of new and current environmental
and safety policies;
4. Establish procedures to monitor and review new and updated laws and
regulations, Executive Orders, and DOC policies to determine their effect
on NOAA ECS policies; and
5. Assist management and supervisors in determining policy applicability
to their programs and activities and to encourage prudent environmental
compliance and occupational health and safety practices.
