NOAA’s
Environmental Management System
The National Oceanic
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is committed to conducting its mission
of understanding
and predicting changes in
the Earth’s environment and conserving and managing coastal and
marine resources in a manner that protects human health and the environment.
NOAA has a responsibility to exhibit leadership in environmental protection
and in the prevention of pollution. In order to demonstrate sound environmental
stewardship, NOAA is committed to implementing and maintaining an Environmental
Management System (EMS) at appropriate facilities in accordance with
Executive
Order 13148, Greening the Government through Leadership in
Environmental Management. This website was developed to communicate NOAA’s
EMS implementation status, offer assistance to NOAA Line Offices developing
their EMS’s and provide useful information to further their environmental
goals.
