Emergency Response
Guidelines General Instructions All workers should know the procedures at their institutions for responding
to emergencies. They should periodically review the emergency response
plans for their facility and always be aware of the locations of:
- Emergency telephone numbers.
- Eyewash fountains and emergency showers.
- Spill kits.
- Emergency exits and evacuation routes.
Medical Emergency In medical emergencies, workers should follow these general guidelines:
- Remain calm.
- Initiate lifesaving measures if required.
- Call for emergency response.
- Do not move injured person unless there is danger of further harm.
- Keep injured person warm.
