The
Safety and Environmental Compliance Office administers the NOAA-wide
environmental compliance, energy, and safety programs. The Office establishes
NOAA-wide guidelines and procedures to implement Federal, state,
and local statutes and regulations, develops NOAA-wide policies
and working procedures for environmental compliance, energy, and
safety, organizes work into program areas, evaluates the implementation
of programs, and monitors compliance progress. The Office establishes
priorities for funding, develops and defends the annual budget
proposal, and administers available funding.
