NOAA Designated Responsible Official Environmental, Health and
Safety Awareness
This course was developed
by the NOAA ECS Training Team in response to the Deputy Chief Administrative
Officer's, OFA, October 4, 2000 memo "Declaration
of NOAA's Designated Responsible Officials under NAO 216_17 and EO 12196" which
makes this training mandatory for every NOAA Designated Responsible Official
(DRO). Click HERE for a copy of the memorandum
and/or for the list of NOAA DRO's.
This course is designed
for all NOAA managers and supervisors who have been designated as the "responsible official" for environmental,
health and safety compliance. It is also beneficial for all upper-level
management personnel who have responsibility for assuring a "safe
and healthful" workplace at all NOAA locations.
This course is conducted
on an "as needed" basis. It is best
presented in conjunction with a "Manager's meeting" where DRO's
and/or Office Directors are present. We encourage Line Office managers
to contact their Line Environmental/Safety Compliance Officer (LECO)
when interested in holding this course. If you have one or two individuals
who need to attend this course contact us and we'll let you know of any
upcoming courses that they could attend. A similar course has also been
developed for Supervisors. Please contact the Training
Team Chairperson for further information or if you have
any questions. |
